“Monetary” type is used for money equivalent values. For example fields like “Salary”, “Desired Salary”, etc.

Note: According to the “Monetary” type configuration users are allowed entering to the
fields of this type both numerical and letter values.

On the front-end, when users posting a listing, ‘monetary’ type field is displayed as an input box (to enter the value) and drop-down list (to select the currency).
For example “Salary” field:

On the search forms ‘monetary’ field is displayed as two input boxes (to set the range) and the drop-down list (to select the currency):

And on the Display listing page it will be displayed as a text, combining entered value and selected currency:

To edit a ‘monetary’ type field in the Admin Panel you need to click on the “Edit” icon opposite this particular field. E.g. to edit the “Salary” field you need to go to Listing Configuration > Listing Types > Job > Salary (“Edit” icon).
There will be the form opened where you can modify the ‘monetary’ type field parameters and select/enter the default value to be set for this particular field.

Note: If a field you are editing is a User Profile field – you can enter
the desired value to be set by default.

But if a field you are editing is a Listing field (like in the example above) – then you can
either enter its default value or select one of the User Profile fields to be used as a default value.

After you finished editing the field parameters, press the “Save” button.
